Ensuring safe and secure remote access to the Moroccan administrative services

Background

Recognized as one of the ‘African champions of Tech’ in 2019, the Kingdom of Morocco is renowned for its digital advancements.

King Mohammed VI’s royal directives emphasized the need to increase efficiency within public services and improve overall citizen satisfaction.

In the past, Moroccan citizens typically had to visit state agencies and interact with public administration staff to access government services and social benefits.

Our mission

iDAKTO has partnered with IDEMIA to deliver the Moroccan digital identity platform through a large program launched by the Digital Development Agency and DGSN (Direction Générale de la Sûreté Nationale). The dedicated smartphone app (Mon identité numérique) designed by iDAKTO was then launched in April 2022 when over 10 million new eID cards had been issued.
The solution provides strong, secure authentication and identification based on the contactless national ID card. iDAKTO additionally provides a citizen’s portal where users can manage their identity and specific functions (www.identitenumerique.ma).

The result

iDAKTO has delivered a state-of-the-art digital identity solution offering both a high level of assurance and maximum inclusivity. Thanks to the new eID cards and digital platform, the citizens of Morocco have a more user-friendly and secure access to government and private eServices.

A top-notch user experience with in-app step-by-step tutorials to ease onboarding and extensive “FAQ” section which answers all frequent questions users can have.

30 (and growing) outstanding services to boost adoption (obtaining police records, enrolling for national exams…)
